We drove over to Seattle today.   The journey was a nightmare.  Traffic was backed up for at least 15 of the 20 miles to our destination, the Waterfront and Pike Market Place.  It took 2 hours.

Our first stop was to ride the ferry round trip from Seattle to Bremerton.  Our purpose was to see Seattle from the water.  It was a nice clear day and we were not disappointed.

This is the type of ferry that we were on.

As we pull away from the dock, we get this view of downtown Seattle.

The Space Needle is an awesome site.

On our return to Seattle, we headed to Pike Market Place.  I believe that this is
one place everyone visits while in town.

The "main" attraction is the fish toss at Pike's Fish Market.  You may have seen
this on TV.  The tossed fish is near the top of the pic. near the pole.  It's blurred.

Several vendors are selling beautiful flowers of all types.

Fruit and Veggies too.  Also all sorts of T-Shirts, crafts, food, etc.  It is a fun and
hectic place to visit.

From a small city park at the north end of Pike Market, you can see Qwest Field,
the home of the Seattle Sea Hawks football team.  You can also see Mt. Rainer in
the distance over the Stadium.  Hey, It was a clear day in Seattle.

I have posted some more pictures in my Picasa albums.
