Death Valley National Park

March, 2008

During our stay in Pahrump, NV we have visited just a small portion of Death Valley.  Gosh this place is hugh.  In talking to one guy that I met, he said that he had drove over 600 miles exploring most of the Valley.  I guess the rest will have to wait to another time.

The flower bloom is reported to be just "fair".  Nothing like the great bloom of the spring of 2005.  I have posted a few pictures here.

I have added a new feature to the Blog.  I have added a link to my Picasa Web Albums that has small pictures.   I have done this to make it easier for those that had a "slow" connection to veiw the pictures.  If you have a "fast" connection, I would suggest that you look at the large pictures.

^The entrance sign was interesting.

^Just one of the many formations on the drive down into the valley.

^This was taken from Zabriskie Point.

^ 282 feet below sea level.  In the distance is Telescope Peak, 11, 049' in elevation.

^Looking north from Badwater

^One of the view of the colored rock formation along Artists drive.

^The sand dunes at Stovepipe wells.

^Another unsual rock formation near Furnace Creek.
