Today started of watching the sun rise over the Blue Mesa Lake.

We then started off driving the West Elk Scenic Byway. It wasn't long
before we came to the "Dillon Pinnacles"

Then we came across a group of longhorn sheep.

I had planed on visiting the north side of the Black Canyon of the
Gunnison. Somehow, I missed the turn off. We continued on and
came across this unsual rock formation.

We stopped in Crawford, CO. for breakfast. Just outside of town was
this hugh rock. They call it "Needle Rock"

To our surprise, we came across a mining town named, Somerset.
Margie, being from southeast Kentucky, felt at home among all these
coal mines.

We got to see our first honest to goodness roundup.

This is one of the many beaver ponds we saw as we drove over
Keebler Pass

Well, we get to see a flock of sheep being moved down from the high
country. This is open range, traffic stops for them.

We come across this beaver pond and decide that this would be the
perfect spot to enjoy our picnic lunch. Life doesn't get much better!!!

Another beaver pond.
