My daughter and I hiked to Rainbow Falls.  The trail is uphill all the way.  Gaining over 1700 feet in the 2.7 miles to the base of the falls.  Coming down was a lot easier.

We were greated at the trail head by a mother black bear and her cub.  Of course there was a "bear jam" and we joined in with the others taking pictures of mom and cub.

Le Conte creek was running low due to the lack of rain in the mountains, but there was enough water to take some pretty pictures.

The water spilling over Rainbow falls was light.  Also, we had to leave too early in the afternoon for the sun to shine on the little mist that was present to see a rainbow.

I have a few pictures here.  The rest can be seen on "My Yahoo pictures, Rainbow Falls"

<<<Some hikers stop here thinking that this is Rainbow Falls.

<<<Rainbow Falls, 80' drop

<<<This is from where you can see the rainbow from the mist if the sun is over your shoulder.
